Founded in 1991 VITO is a public limited company and part of the policy domain of the Department of Economy, science & Innovation (EWI) of the Flemish government. VITO is active in 40 countries and has around 909 employees with 39 different nationalities. In order to remain competitive, the entire chemical sector must make the transition towards renewable raw materials and focus on achieving a higher level of efficiency and reuse. Therefore, Vito’s chemistry group approach will follow two paths: create new value chains based on renewable raw materials, such as biomass and CO2 and focusing on sustainable chemical processes.
